Share Link Embed • Microsoft 365

All app features used before May 14, 2024, that were named “Microsoft 365 Office Embedded” are now named as “Share Link Embed • Microsoft 365”.

Share Link Embed • Microsoft 365 allows a user of Microsoft 365 to take a share link from a file in Microsoft 365, SharePoint Online & OneDrive for Business and embed the file in monday.com using the link supplied by Microsoft 365.

Share Link Embed • Microsoft 365 is available with the following features:

• Board views

• Item views

• Dashboard widgets

• Workdoc widgets

How it works

In Microsoft 365 Office

Share a Powerpoint, Word or Excel file using the Share button and copy the link:

Or share a calendar from Outlook:

Once the Copy Link has been copied, move to monday.com.

In monday.com

For Board Views and Dashboard Widgets

1. Add the Share Link Embed • Microsoft 365 app feature in monday.com

2. Paste the Copy Link URL from Microsoft 365 into the Share URL field in the widget settings

For Item Views

1. Open the Item View sidebar and select Add View

2. Add the Share Link Embed • Microsoft 365 app feature

3. In Settings select a column to paste the URL - this will be the same for each item in the board

4. Paste the Copy Link URL from Microsoft 365 into the column for your board item.

When to use

• When you simply want to share a link with anyone

• When the file can be displayed publicly

When not to use

• When the file must remain completely private

• When you wish to share a folder and it’s content

• When there are strict access controls on the file or folder

In these instances we recommend that you use Secure Embed • Microsoft 365 .
